There are absolutely no electronic contacts inside the lens-mount of an MFT BMCC. Turning it into an active MFT mount is impossible via firmware.

exactly, AFAIK they have to modify the hardware, unless we're talking only newly re-designed mFT mout BMCC's to accomodate active mount. But this has not been confirmed yet. Maybe someone more enlightened can share.

I was wondering why not announce an ETA for an active MFT today but it will probably be six months before anyone can realistically pick one up. So I think I'm happy enough to pick up the MFT passive knowing an active will not be available for six months on top of what ever date they finally release.
