CinemaDNG the biggest drawback here for me. Compressed raw is gold. Interesting to see if they'll be able to do something in that regard later on. Also, looks like I have to wait some more years for the first Foveon movie camera![]()
I'll believe it when I see it. How can they record uncompressed 5k+ cdng raw to sd cards? How can they cool a full frame sensor in a body the size of the original pocket?
The directors viewfinder mode is interesting. With a pl adapter it could find its way into many cinematographers kits, if the price is reasonable.
It have a cooling fan inside. (Seems don't have)

Yeah now sigma, blackmagic, kinefinity and zcam are opening up possibilities. Canon, sony, panasonic and nikon better follow up, or they will be losing a lot of clients![]()
They don't. From the article:
"The SIGMA fp records either raw CDNG in 8, 10 or 12bit (externally to SSD) or it records plain h.264 into a .mov container either in all-i or GOP mode. Supported resolutions include:
3,840 × 2,160 (UHD 4K): 23.98p, 25p,29.97p
1,920 x 1,080 (full HD): 23.98p, 25p, 29.97p, 59.94p, 100p, 119.88p"
I don't see where it says uncompressed. It says SSD, not SD. UHD, not 5K+
Sigma claim 12.5 stops. is this Cmos or global shutter?
