  1. #1 BMCC Lens Advice
I am coming from a GH4 (sold it and all my lenses). I wanted to get the Pocket 4k, and I probably will early next year but found a deal I felt I couldn't pass. I got a BMCC 2.5k MFT Mount with the EF Speedbooster adapter for $470.

With that being said, I'm looking at the best budget-friendly lenses to get me by shooting some work and getting used to the BMCC. I plan on shooting mostly outside and documentary style. I know the Sigma 18-35 ART is probably one of the best, but was curious about other options (cheaper if possible).

    Thanks for the input!

Well, there are tons of vintage lenses if you want to go manual, but no wide zooms that come even close in image quality and speed. It depends very much on your shooting style.
If you want something cheap, go for a kit lens, like a 18-55mm.

Find yourself the Tamron 17-50 f2.8
Solid and cheap. There is a version of this lens with image Stabilisation as well.

The old stand-bys when the BMCC came out. Contax Zeiss primes, Tokina 11-16, Canon EFS 17-55 (same glass as the L 24-70). When the Sigma ART 18-35 came out it became was the go to. Next the Rokinon primes. The Tokina and Sigma will serve you in almost any circumstance, particularly with the speed booster. That was a fabulous deal you got. We still use our BMCCs regularly.

I personally love the look of the Contax Zeiss.

Me too, and the Sigma 18-35mm plus a few Zeiss Contax primes would be a nice set too.
The Contax 18mm is much slower, the 21mm very expensive and the 25mm WO not as good as the rest. The 28mm f2 is sheer beauty though.
Colors are not too hard to match.

Or Sigma 17-50 2.8, great lens for a bargain price.

Having owned both the Sigma 17-50 2.8 and the Tamron 17-50 2.8 VC (vibration control) I would really recommend the Tamron. The Sigma is a bit sharper (not really helpful on the BMCC because of moire) and the image stabilization in the Tamron is really great.
Ursa 4.6k, Pocket Cinema 4k, BMCC, GoPro Hero4 Black, Mavic Air, Phantom 2, Canon T3i, Lots of glass.

Good insight, yes the IS on the Sigma stutters at times.
