Canon always wins in low-light. Against everything. That's not even a discussion.

But that doesn't mean it's a 'better' image.
To me Canon and BMD are some of the best BUT the most different inherent looks out there. You just have to pick which one you like better. The cameras themselves are both outstanding.
Cameras: Blackmagic Cinema Camera, Blackmagic Pocket Camera (x2), Panasonic GH2 (x2), Sony RX100 ii, Canon 6D, Canon T2i,
Mics: Sennheiser, AKG, Shure, Sanken, Audio-Technica, Audix
Lights: Every Chinese clone you can imagine

Dane, do you know if Quality Control is still an issue with the Ursa Mini Pro?

I saw this on another forum:

I have yet to hear from a UMP owner who didn't have to return his camera a couple of times to get one that works. That scares customers. I don't want to go through that.
    Is this accurate?

I did not have any issues, shooting with it over a year now.

No. The URSA Mini 4k had almost zero problems from day one.
The URSA Mini 4.6k had some color problems from the new 4.6k sensor, but they worked them out.
The URSA Mini Pro was next generation and had the kinks worked out AND the added features many people wanted.
The STUDIO cameras have also been pretty much perfect from day one.
Blackmagic Design has produced about a DOZEN cameras since 2012 and the first BMCC.
    They know what they're doing.

You're saying that the green pollution (for want of a better description) that occurs past F5.6 is now gone? That I can now buy the camera with certainty? That was the one thing holding me back.

With micro XLR (phantom power) and different flavors of ProRes Pocket V2 is far more attractive buy then Canon C200 at the moment. ND filters do not justify 5x the price tag of Canon.

Can't say for certain as I've only shot with one UMP.
But I haven't heard any mention of it on the UMP hardly at all.
Also, the color issues specific to the 4.6k sensor have been hit or miss, with some copies showing none of it at all. I know that's disappointing but very very very few cinema cameras are without SOME issues that have to be lived and worked with. And at the insanely cheap price point of ALL Blackmagic cameras relative to comparable models I've always felt it was entirely worth the extra learning you might have to do to correct for those issues.

No way would I ever buy a Canon Cinema csmera today, or any Canon Camera dormthat matter.
The day they replaced their original lens line up with EF is the last day I ever used a Canon still photo camera.
No way would over the offerings from BM.
    Cheers

It is not a positive locking mount, camera plate depends on a spring to seat and hold the lens, which allows the FFD to drift. My biggest issue is, Canon made the excellent FD Mount redundant when they released the EF Mount, making all owners of FD glass to replace their lenses with EF Mount glass. Some of the Canon lenses are very good, but not the same quality as the previous FD Pro lenses were.
    Cheers
