A film in a hurry...

I thought I was getting too old for this "making a film in a hurry" kind of thing. I kind of like having the time to plan my shooting, know the locations I will be shooting, lighting, blocking the actors, etc. But a few friends challenged me to enter one of these 48h film competitions and I have to say it was a brutal experience. It goes against everything we are used to and expect when doing a professional kind of shooting, but it's still a challenge to our resourcefulness. Of course, the final result is a lot different than if I'd had the time to properly prepare, but that's kind of the point...

Good stuff David - love the shot against the window! Camera, lenses?

On the contrary I was not excited about the shot against the window. The framing is right but the over use of bokeh from the window just killed it. I've done a couple of those 48H, it is fun but tiring and really does not gain me much (IMO) in building up my game.

EYu, probably the last one I'll be a part of. It's fun but not really a learning experience for me anymore. Cinema is exactly the opposite of doing everything in a hurry. About the shot you mentioned, I like it a lot. But I understand what you say about the window.
