The link below is a training video I directed and shot on the Ursa Mini Pro.

The only lens I used was the sigma art 18-35mm lens.

They gave me some freedom with the script but my client was very conservative so don't be too harsh on your critique! LOL

Really liked the video, I think you nailed the "office/parks and rec" style fake comedy doc for them. Biggest thing that stuck out to me was pacing during your editing of the conversations. This can obviously be boiled down to part preference but I felt a few of the conversations had somewhat awkward and noticeably edited conversations (vs "invisible" edits that aid the conversation without distracting). To me, a few seem to have awkward spacing the way it cuts back and forth during conversations between two people. Obviously its hard working with a conservative client and possibly non actors? But I think this little editing change could really improve the final product. Overall its a great project with a lot to be happy with and if you and your client are happy with those spots, theres nothing to worry about!

*edit- I notice now that you didn't say if you were part of the edit of the piece or not, if you weren't, pass these notes on to your editor.

Thank you so much for your feedback! And yes I did edit the video as well. I also agree with you that some of the pacing could have been better. My mistake was not getting more creative angles to enhance the scenes. They were also non actors so the takes you see are the best takes they did. With a bigger budget next year I plan to be able to focus solely on the writing and directing so I'll be able to focus all my energy towards that versus lighting and shooting. And hopefully we can actually get real actors! LOL

Thanks again for your feedback Jamie!

You should hire a skilled colorist. Patrick Inhofer (one of the founders of MixingLight.com) is right there in Orlando. Very skilled and a great guy.
