Nice news from Rawlite OLPF filter developer:
"I wanted to let you know that the closed full stainless steel circle shim for the Rawlite IR-cut OLPF is available. From now on it is delivered with the filter. No more washers. The shim also makes the connection between camera and lens much better."

And THAT is the last piece of the puzzle we needed from RAWLITE.
Looks perfect. I'll probably have to get a couple now.

So with a similar shimming solution, what's the consensus?

I feel like I'm still leaning toward the Mosaic simply because of the easier install. Watching the RawLite install video makes me nervous. I'd still like to see side by side results though.

Everything I've seen points to the Rawlight causing less of a hit to the sharpness and contrast. This shim should make installation about the same as the Mosaic.

For me with a hairy dog who puts hair everywhere I went with the mosaic just because I didn't have to expose the sensor but I actually do like the rawlite and in the tests I've seen it did seem a bit sharper but I'm not sure if that's because it's reducing moire less or what. i'm not sure why anyone would buy both but hopefully someone does a side by side.

I didn't know that the filters would even effect contrast, it's never mentioned as a thing?

Anyway Rawlite does have some good credits to it's name but I wish they didn't use those tiny plastic balls to push up the MFT lens electrical contacs, I like the mosaics plastic tab much more.

In the end I spent my money on the mosaic and I'm gonna have to roll with it for now, does the job but I have still noticed moire especially in really wide shots where things like roof tiles etc are far enough away to make a fine pattern. It is how ever majorly reduced but hay if the rawlite is better then maybe down the road I'll find a nice clean room and make the switch.
