Checking what URSA users are using for quick release shoulder mount? Something to use with the VCT-U14 quick release plate instead of screwing unscrewing the shoulder pad when going from shoulder mount to tripod. Anything similar as the shoulder mound of the Ursa mini? Thank you.

No downtime between tripod and shouldermount. I'm still undecided if I am getting the Ursa mini shoudlermount.
You could get the zacuto universal baseplate. Its really a great investment as it will work on any camera and is future proof.
I use that alan gordon pad as well, but it always slips on me. Do you have any tricks to get it to stay in place (short of taping the straps so they don't loosen)?Originally Posted by jambredz
Funny enough it doesn't really slip on me. Maybe it's the body type? If i take off the rig I have to readjust it before I place it back on my shoulder...but once the rig is on it usually stays. The other shoulder strap I linked to I definitely prefer as it has grip layers on both sides and its low profile so it doesn't raise the rig as high....but $130 is kinda pushing it for a shoulder strap -_- . When it was $90 that was my limit.
Waiting on Ursa, but my plan is pretty much the same system as I've used for some years now. Kessler Kwik on everything. Secure, fast, seems unbreakable. I use a Zacuto QR shoulder pad, it has the same Arca-Swiss spec so it's compatible with Kwik. I plan to put a long kwik plate to Ursa bottom, just to have it stripped naked quickly and on to shoulder, ronin, slider, sticks etc.
Not going for UM shoulder kit since I try to keep things universal and already own Wooden Camera bits and pieces. EVF mount (liking it, used for some years now) with WC Ursa EVF mod kit mounted through a nato handle. Will even try if my old WC easy plate XL works as a top plate.
It would be great to hear recommendations for a solid universal baseplate that does not include a shoulder pad like the mentioned Zacuto Universal Baseplate. What I'm looking for is rod mounts preferably pass through and height adjustability (although I don't understand the importance of the correct rod to lens height since rod mounted parts seem to be available height adjustable, like my movcam mff2 ff). Having a rosette would be a great bonus, but rod mounted bracket will most likely be the solution to mount a Kinogrip handle + ball. Can't trade wood for plastic.

Thanks jambredz! Yes first time poster, long time lurker here. Looks good and has all the functionality I'm looking for, now if only the top part would be a plain flat cheeseplate, or even just a plate with few holes. Need to keep searching for something without a fixed qr.
